Italy 7.4.17 - 7.10.17
I fully realize that I am beyond blessed to have visited Italy three times in three years. Beyond.
Every time I step foot in that country, my heart just feels a mix of excitement and peace.
//days 4-5 we landed in Rome in the evening and immediately walked straight to Piazza Navona for some gelato, and a quick walk around Rome - by some of the major sights. Then to dinner, and a good nights sleep. Our one full day in Rome was FULL. They might not have built Rome in a day, but we sure saw it in a day! Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica, followed by dinner in Campo de Fiori.
My only wish is that we could have spend one whole week here instead of one whole day. Or one whole month. Or one whole lifetime. Whichever ;)
//day 6 Off we go to Genoa, with a quick stop in Florence for lunch...
//day 7 Cinque Terre. Need I say more?
//day 8-10 a short walking tour of Genoa, and then the long bus transfer to Milan! Days 9 & 10 we were in the MiCo Milano Conference Center for most the time, and I'll be blogging about that seperately... :)
I haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to seeing the world, but I DO think it's safe to say that Italy will always be one of my absolute favorite places on earth.
I know I can speak for everyone when I say that we had the trip of a lifetime and desperately want to go back. The other chaperones and I are so proud of all the kids accomplished at the leadership summit! More to come on that later... For now, I'll just day-dream about Italia as I flip back through these luscious photos that don't even do the real thing justice.
