Greece 6.30.17 - 7.3.17
Well, it's that time of year again. That time where I think it's a fabulous idea to take 20+ teenagers to Europe. ;)
This year we jetted off to Greece and Italy! First stop (and only stop in Greece) was Athens...
//day 1 & 2: we arrived very late at night on the first day, so we really only had time for a 9pm dinner and back to the hotel to try and beat jet-lag! The next day included a walking tour of the food markets, and Cape Sounion (Temple of Poseidon)
//day 3: the acropolis!! and lots of free time to wander the streets of Athens...sans teenagers. :)
//day 4: we peaced outta Athens and headed to Rome!
I must say, and I feel like I can easily speak for everyone else on our trip, there is no need to ever visit Athens again. There were some spots that were really cool - like the Acropolis - or the oldest bar in Athens that I hid out in when the kids had 4 hours of free time and they had been complaining ALL day about the heat. Man, that bar was the BEST.
While we were there, it was 110 degrees out, and the garbage company was on strike. So it was humid and literally smelled like trash.
We were SO excited to get to Rome!! Off we go...
