Rocky Mountain National Park 9.10.17
Oh it feels good to be back in the mountains.
It's safe to say that while my heart yearns to travel and eat all the food in the world (especially gelato in Italy), it doesn't feel quite at home unless it is in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Pretty much the last truly warm weekend of this year, I got up into Rocky Mountain National Park for a little hike. I love seeing lakes and mountains, so this was a perfect hike for that!
(Before I go on, I'd like to make clear that absolutely none of these photos have been touched up. Usually I brighten the color, or adjust the shadows. Or make it black/white. That's about it. But these I did absolutely nothing to. They are straight from my iPhone 7s!)
Overall, we saw 3 lakes. Dream Lake, Emerald Lake, and Lake Hiyaha. Lake Hiyaha is the very last photo, and is safe to say it was our absolute favorite of the 3.
It was a gorgeous day for a hike to some serene lakes in one of the most beautiful places on earth. But I think it's safe to say we're ready for a break from RMNP for a while. It is beyond crowded and touristy. We like the quieter, more off-the-grid spots...which is exactly what we have planned for next time! :)
xo,
