August + September 2018
It has been a really busy couple of months around here.
// Brook + Taylor Got Hitched!
I was so honored to be a part of my cousin’s big day! Brookie was the most beautiful bride, and Taylor was a handsome groom. Surrounded by family and friends in the mountains, they put on one heck of a party!
// Visits from Parents
My parents were in town for a week - for Brook’s wedding and some quality time together! We had so much Italian food, wine, and laughter. Then, 2 days after they left, Joe’s parents came to visit! We had even more great food, laughter, and memories made at our new home. I think I can speak for Joe as well when I say that we really lucked out with each other’s parents. Truly.
// Thirty One.
Well…here I am, officially ~in~ my thirties. No longer ~just~ thirty. IN my thirties. I woke up on my birthday to roses, pink sprinkle donuts, coffee, and the sweetest card next to me. Joe and I ate our breakfast in bed while watching Harry Potter 7 (parts 1 + 2!!), Face-timed my parents, and then headed out for the day. We had wine and oysters at our favorite: Carboy Winery + Angelo’s Taverna. Then we went to the Bears v. Broncos game!! It was a Bears win!! Being ~in~ my thirties doesn’t feel so awful… ;)
// Labor Day Weekend
Oh how I love long weekends sitting next to a campfire in the mountains. Brook and Taylor joined us (+ our pups) as we camped at the base of Huron Peak. We had a bit of icky weather, but that didn’t stop us from grilling over the campfire, playing games, laughing a lot, and getting a good hike in! We ended the weekend with a quick stop in Buena Vista for breakfast and Brews. 10/10 would recommend a weekend like this.
// Fall Colors Peepin’
One Sunday we had nothing on our to-do list, so after sleeping in, we put Lily in the back of the car and took a little drive into the mountains to see some fall colors. Ugh, I love this time of year in Colorado. We took Guanella Pass into Georgetown, pulling off the road a few times to walk around under those golden leaves. Seriously. Best time of year.
// Jefferson Camping
I love camping. I love our camper. I love fall. I love the mountains. I especially love camping in our camper during fall in the mountains. I kept my phone away for most of it, but here’s two pictures that pretty perfectly capture the weekend.
That’s life lately! Always an adventure!
